Above-Ground Pool Removal in Oakville
Above-ground pools come out faster than inground pools, but a proper job still covers the water, the liner, the wall panels, the frame, the deck, the sand base and the pump's wiring, and it finishes with ground that can be landscaped.

How the job runs
Visit
We look at the pool, deck, equipment and yard access, and confirm the finished grade you want.
Power off
Your electrician disconnects the pump and filter circuit.
Drain
The pool is drained following local guidance and away from neighbours' yards.
Take-down
Liner, walls and frame come apart and are separated for recycling or disposal.
Deck and base
Any deck is dismantled and the sand base is dug out or spread.
Grade
The area is levelled to match the surrounding yard and left tidy.
Before we start
Book your electrician for the pump disconnect before our date, and let us know about septic beds, sprinkler heads or trees near the pool wall.
Where an older deck or enclosure around the pool is coming out and older materials will be disturbed, the owner still needs a designated substances survey under OHSA section 30 before the work is arranged, with anything listed removed by a qualified abatement contractor under O. Reg. 278/05. That is outside our scope; we do not perform abatement.
Decide what the space becomes next, whether lawn, garden or patio, so we leave the ground at the right level for it.

Questions we hear
- How is this different from inground pool removal?
- An above-ground pool sits on the surface, so there is no concrete or gunite shell to break out and no deep hole to backfill. The work is mostly dismantling, clearing the base and restoring grade. An inground pool needs heavy equipment, demolition of the shell and compacted fill, which is covered on our main pool removal page.
- What happens to the sand base?
- Sand can often be spread and blended into the yard if the finished grade allows it, which saves hauling it away. If there is too much, or it is mixed with stone and debris, we dig it out and remove it. We decide with you based on what is going into that part of the yard next.
- Can you leave the deck if we want to keep it?
- Yes. A freestanding deck can stay if it is sound, and we take the pool out from beside it. Where the deck wraps around the pool, the inner edge usually needs new framing or a railing once the pool is gone, so we flag that for your deck builder before we start.
- Will the lawn be damaged?
- The ground under the pool will be bare, and the route to the street may show some wear. We use boards on soft ground and carry material by hand where we can. The finished area is left level and raked so you can lay sod, seed or plan new landscaping without extra preparation.
