Concrete Removal in Oakville
Concrete removal breaks up and hauls away driveways, porches, steps, patios, walkways and basement slabs. It is for homeowners, landscapers and renovation contractors in Oakville and nearby communities. We use hand breakers indoors and skid steers or mini excavators outside.
How we do it
The photos here cover most of the concrete jobs we see in Oakville. Outside, there is a concrete porch broken up at the side door of a brick house, a skid steer with a hydraulic breaker on a driveway, a track loader lifting out an old driveway, a skid steer at the front steps, and a mini excavator stacking broken slabs in a backyard. Inside, there are basement slabs broken out and trenched along the block walls for new plumbing.
Outdoor work starts with utility locates and a look at what is next to the concrete: foundation walls, gas meters, window wells, trees and the neighbour's property. Driveways are usually broken with a breaker on a skid steer and loaded straight into a truck or bin. Porches and steps against the house are broken by hand close to the wall so the foundation is not damaged.
Basement slabs are broken with electric breakers and removed by hand or with a small loader, depending on access. Dust is controlled with water and ventilation, and the rest of the house is sealed off. When a plumber has marked trench lines, we break to those lines and depths.
Clean concrete is sent for recycling where possible. When we finish, the base is left ready for new concrete, pavers, a new slab or topsoil, depending on what comes next.
Concrete is heavy, and hauling it is a big part of every job. We size trucks and bins to the amount of material and the space on your driveway, so the work area stays manageable and the street is kept clear while loading.
Where the driveway apron meets the road, the part on the town's boulevard may need a permit from the Town of Oakville, which we confirm before starting.

- Can you remove a driveway without damaging the road?
- Yes. We saw-cut the joint between the driveway and the road or curb before breaking. Work on the town's boulevard may need a permit, which we confirm first.
- How do you control dust in a basement?
- We use water on the slab, ventilate to the outside and seal off the stairs and upper floors. Silica dust from concrete is a health hazard, so dust control is part of every indoor job.
- Is broken concrete recycled?
- Clean concrete is sent to recycling where possible. Concrete mixed with other materials is sorted first.
- Can you break out concrete steps attached to the house?
- Yes. Steps and porches attached to the foundation are broken by hand at the house side so the wall is not damaged.
