Concrete in a larger project
Concrete removals for a commercial forecourt redesign
A forecourt redesign can move pedestrian routes, islands and entrances while much of the existing paving remains. Define the concrete elements that conflict with the new civil design. A request to clear the forecourt should not silently include asphalt, landscape work, services or contaminated material.

Use the future circulation plan
Show shop entrances, accessible routes, vehicle paths and proposed levels on the reviewed project drawing. The designer determines that arrangement. Bolan's role is to assess the concrete cutting and removal required by the defined plan.
| Illustrative area | Selective-removal option | Wider-reset question |
|---|---|---|
| Old island | Remove the specified concrete boundary | Does adjacent paving also change? |
| Shopfront sidewalk | Remove named sections around retained entrances | How are new levels and door thresholds resolved? |
| Obsolete base | Assess the identified ordinary concrete element | Is it connected to a foundation or service requiring separate review? |
Connect isolated removals on the plan
Several small areas can share one material route or meet the same retained entrance. Mark those relationships so the programme does not treat every concrete piece as independent. The property team decides temporary circulation and any business access during the work.
Utilities, supports and unknown depths need review for the actual removal boundary. A surface outline cannot establish the full construction below it.
Compare two illustrative forecourts
One design removes a concrete island and a short walkway section while keeping the shopfront sidewalk. The main questions are the retained paving edges, material route and next contractor's new work.
Another design replaces a connected run of sidewalk and islands to suit revised levels. It requires a coordinated handover to the civil contractor around each entrance. That wider removal does not transfer grading, drainage design or new paving installation to the demolition scope.
These are planning examples, not Bolan project records. They do not establish a universal method or justify disturbing suspect materials without assessment.
Define the concrete contribution
Bring the existing and proposed forecourt plans, known concrete construction, retained entrances and civil contractor's receiving requirements to Bolan. Identify asphalt, soil treatment, landscaping and electrical work as separately assigned items. If the base or material is uncertain, record the question rather than expanding the ordinary concrete package by assumption.
