Concrete in a larger project
Commercial concrete removal during a planned shutdown
A booked shutdown is a place in the facility programme, not confirmation that the demolition area is ready. Define the concrete and ordinary interior removals between specialist preparation and the next installation. The facility remains responsible for the larger shutdown and restart plan.
Discuss the removal portion through our commercial strip out service.
Separate the programme milestones
Ask which systems need specialist attention, which area becomes available and what the next trade needs exposed. Those are distinct milestones even when they share a planned closure window.
| Programme stage | Responsible decision | Demolition interface |
|---|---|---|
| Preparation and release | Facility team and appropriate specialists | Confirm the defined area and affected services |
| Ordinary removals | Assessed removal contractor scope | Named concrete, partitions or finishes leave |
| New work | Receiving construction and installation teams | Agreed exposed condition, repairs and installation |
| Restart | Facility and relevant system specialists | Demolition completion alone does not authorise operation |
Compare two illustrative sequences
For an equipment change, the supplier and handling team manage the machinery. If a separately reviewed ordinary concrete element conflicts with the new arrangement, it can be identified for assessment between those activities. An unidentified machine foundation remains outside an assumed ordinary-concrete scope until its construction and capability requirements are resolved.
For a staff-area refit, the facility may release a room after the relevant service preparation. The agreed partition, finish and concrete removals then hand over to the fit-out trades. The production equipment elsewhere is a retained boundary, not part of the demolition package.
These examples show different dependencies; they do not establish a universal machine-base service or promise completion within a fixed shutdown.
Confirm a workable removal window
Access, material load-out and unresolved design decisions affect what can be agreed. State which activities must precede removal and which follow it. If preparation changes, review the programme before treating the original start as unconditional.
A staged renovation outside the main closure may be another option, but the facility and project team must assess whether the areas and routes can be separated. Continued production cannot be assumed from a line on a plan.
Discuss the demolition contribution
Provide Bolan with the upgrade objective, defined physical removals, retained process boundary and facility/GC contacts. Explain the proposed window and its dependencies. Keep process isolation, machinery handling, emergency capacity and restart responsibility with their appointed providers.
