Shared building interiors
Demolition within a vacant childcare-premises renovation
Vacant childcare premises can be renewed for the same use or adapted to a different layout. The ordinary demolition package should follow the intended design, not simply remove every child-sized fitting. Playrooms, washrooms, kitchen areas and fixed storage each create a different set of removal boundaries.
Discuss the removal portion through our commercial strip out service.
Name the intended use first
The owner and responsible professionals establish approvals and suitability for the next operation. This guide starts with vacant premises and does not cover working around children, licensing or infection-control services.
| Room group | Selective renewal | Wider refit question |
|---|---|---|
| Play and teaching rooms | Selected finishes and fixed storage | Are assessed partitions changing? |
| Small washrooms | Named fittings and specified layers | What do the new plumbing and finish trades need exposed? |
| Kitchen or kitchenette | Identified cabinets after trade preparation | Which connected equipment has a separate provider? |
| Reception and storage | Counter or enclosure removal | How does the new circulation meet retained rooms? |
Keep useful rooms distinct
A room can retain its walls while its cabinetry leaves. Another may need a deeper strip-out for the proposed arrangement. Record those differences by room rather than using one whole-premises instruction.
Loose play equipment and operator belongings need their own removal or storage plan. Ownership and destination should be settled before attached interiors are treated as waste.
Illustrative vacant-premises package
An owner keeps the main playroom enclosures while replacing fixed storage, selected floor finishes and the kitchenette. The washroom receives a separately defined renewal after the relevant trade preparation. Structure and named base-building systems remain outside the ordinary-removal package.
If the next use instead requires larger rooms, the partition proposal returns to the designer and assessment. The first finish-led package cannot simply be reused as approval for the wider change.
Agree the receiving condition
Ask the next contractor what needs to remain at wall, floor and ceiling junctions. Removal may expose repairs or design questions that need resolution before installation. New services and finishes are distinct scopes, and demolition completion does not establish that a childcare operation can open.
Bring Bolan the current room plan, proposed use, retained elements and vacancy/access arrangements. Identify the authorised project contact and any specialist preparation still outstanding. The assessment is for ordinary commercial interiors, with no childcare qualification or licensing service implied.
